TPPC Board of Directors Meeting – September 14, 2021
The TPPC BOD meeting was called to order at 3pm on September 14, 2021. Members attending were Knowlton, Howard, Dwyer, Rooks, Asbel, Crane, Ellingson by phone.
Secretary Report
Crane reported she had sent minutes of the September 7, 2021 to the Board. Rooks moved, seconded by Dwyer, to approve the minutes as corrected. Crane also reported she would be sending a note on the passing of Roxann D’Ambrosio, former member and wife of Gino D’Ambrosio, to all Club members this week.
Treasurer’s Report
Dwyer reported the following:
- There are 782 Club members.
- The Club checking account contains $4445.56.
- The Quicken Deluxe computer program was ordered to handle Club financials to take the place of Excel.
- The $50 weekly rental of the Pavilion for TPPC cookouts was completed up to May 14, 2022.
Pavilion Rental
Knowlton reported she had made the reservation for the TPPC on Saturdays from Oct 16-May 14 at the rate of $50 each event for 50 attendees. It was noted that any cancellation or unavailable date would be added to the end of the reservation period.
Additional fee: For each event 50 additional attendees over the initial 50 adds an additional $20. A list of attendees needs to be sent to the TP Office each week.
Fun Tournament in October Date Change
Asbel reported on the Fun tournament scheduled for October 16. He said the date has been changed to Sunday, October 17 due to a TP event on October 16. The sign-up sheet will be posted on the TPPC website, in the Den sign-up sheets, and communicated in the Friday Fix. Sign-up sheets will also be in the PARC Bulletin Board holders.
Other tournament details:
- Helen and Cathi will assemble a list of volunteers to work at the tournament to include scorekeeper, announcers, set-up/takedown, food/drink sale.
- D. Rooks will sponsor the tournament ($300). There will be no fees to participate.
- D. Rooks will add the Tournament sign-up to the Den.
- Cathi reviewed a list of tournament guidelines.
- P. Asbel will create a tournament flyer for the PARC Bulletin Board and for the website.
- Asbel’s medals will be used for the October tournament.
- Status update on the tournament medals being created is needed from Larry Pierce who is
creating the medals.
Other Items
- An RFA was sent to TP to have court lights start daily at 6:15am to 10:15pm.
- A Barbershop quartet requested to sing at the next cookout. Knowlton will affirm their request.
- Guest chefs for the cookouts are signed up through February except for October. Bruce Gresh’s daughter has volunteered to serve as guest chef. She will be contacted.
- It was reported that a Club member’s golf cart was hit in the PARC parking lot.
- Knowlton reported that the possibility of having a Windscreen Committee was sent to Sibbring who turned it over to Stuart with no response as yet.
- Howard suggested that the TPPC adopt the PARC work area temporarily until the end of the year to help out with tasks like weeds, etc. Ellingson suggested having a clean-up workday.
- Howard stated that Gino is thinking about a possible Celebration of Life for Roxann in January at the Pavilion when the snowbirds return to TP.
Special Events
- TP 40th Anniversary Celebration. Bowe, Rooks, and Crane planned to attend the monthly 40th anniversary meeting on Wed. Sep 15. The Club will sign up for February 26 for the Club’s all-day celebration event. They have also signed up for a table designed to promote the Club after the Golf Cart parade opening on Feb 5,. Possible considerations of Club promotional items are T-shirts, poster, flyer/brochure, membership forms.
- BASH. Further discussion of Bash will begin after January 1.
October Schedule
Rooks indicated that Fortin would be starting on the October Den schedule during the week of Sep 20. He stated that much of the schedule would remain the same as in September, including training on Courts 1,2 every day and starting the evening events at 6pm. Skinny singles will also be kept.
Dwyer suggested holding a monthly strategy class for 6 members on Courts 1 or 2. It was suggested that when discussing the November schedule forward, an Orientation session be included.
The next meeting was set for Tuesday, September 21 at 3pm at the PARC.
