Pickleball Fix

SCHEDULES

Holy calendars, Batman, we have a full slate of new and revived events. See below for detailed information about our upcoming opportunities. Special HUGE thanks to Ken Krueger with big assists from President Marie Knowlton, Marsha Lorenzen, and Diane Beaudoin for the superb job of doing the leg work in organizing, scheduling, and describing our events. Let’s look…

--ABCD Skinny Singles (Rally Scoring)

This is a new event where you can play at your level and continue to hone your shot making skills. We will use rally scoring that will shorten the length of the games, allowing more mixing of opponents and shorter wait times between games. Rally scoring will be explained at each session in case you have never tried it. Beginning Sunday, October 22 and every Sunday thereafter, at 1-3pm, courts #5-6.

--ABCD Partners

Partners can be men, women or mixed. Both players should sign up, and in the comments indicate who your partner will be. If you want to play but don’t have a partner, sign up, and in the comments section add “Need Partner.” Beginning Sunday, October 22 and every Sunday thereafter, at 5-7pm, courts #5-8.

--Ball Machine Training

Come and learn how to set up and use all three of our Pickleball Machines in your training program. Our newest machine, the ERNE, uses a smartphone app that you will need to download from iPhone or Android App Store. By separate message, we will distribute an ERNE handout with instructions on how to get the App and other links to additional ERNE information or go to the Club website to review the user manual. Beginning Sunday, October 22 and every Sunday thereafter, at 11-1pm and Thursday, October 26 and every Thursday thereafter, 5-7pm, courts #3-4. Be sure to download the app before attending the training.

--Beginners Next Paddle Up

Beginners or those who are not quite comfortable playing regular NPU. There are two NPU’s geared towards you. On Mondays from 7-9pm on courts #1-2, and Fridays from 1-3pm on courts #3-4.

--Skills and Drills

Skills and Drills return on Sundays starting October 15th from 1-3pm, courts 1-2. Open to all skill levels, but geared to intermediates. And in the planning stages is a Skills and Drills training geared specifically for advanced players. We are expecting to start first thing next year, but if we can find a skilled VOLUNTEER to lead the training in November and December, we can get a jump on it. Send an email to the Club email account or tell a Board member.

SAVE THE DATES

BIG NEWS!! Check the PARC bulletin board and your emails for a comprehensive listing of ALL future events of the Club for the upcoming season from early October through the end of March. Included are the cookouts (including what will be the main dish), a Tournament/Group Games schedule and Special Events. Use this listing along with our Schedule of Events and the info above, and you’ll know all there is to know about what this Club has in store for you.

COOKOUT

The next cookout is October 21st and will be featuring brats (for all us Wisconsin cheese heads) and a potato salad contest compliments of Steve Combs and Kevin Gautier. Bring $5 and a dish to share with 6-8 folks. Sign-up in The Den and indicate in the comments section what you plan to bring to avoid duplications.

2024 MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL INFORMATION

At the October 4th meeting, the Pickleball Board of Directors voted unanimously to set membership dues at $15 per person, effective for the 2024 year. The 2024 membership renewal period will start on Wednesday, November 1st. Forms will be available at the court mailbox and on the website.
