Pickleball Fix

Cookout

Mark your calendars - the next cookout is December 16th. The main dish will be Karen Toof's famous Turkey Pot Pies! Yum! Please sign up on the Den. If you cannot make it after signing up, please take your name off the list before.5:30 on Thursday, Dec 14th. If you want us to continue having these cookouts, please support us by signing up to help, attending as many as you can, and paying your $5 even if you end up needing to cancel at the last minute, since we have to purchase supplies and food ahead of time. If you can help at these cookouts, whether it be by helping to make the main dish, or set up/clean up, please email Diane

New Year’s Eve

We need your help! We need people to do food prep and cook vegatables for the New Year’s Eve dinner. We will buy the supplies; we just need volunteers to cook. We also need people to help with clean up and we need an extra grill person. This is a sold out event! These events cannot happen without many volunteers. If you can help with any of the above, please contact Diane

Tax Status

After many moons of applying and waiting, on November 15th, the IRS has finally approved our request and issued a Determination Letter to be a tax-exempt (income tax) organization under Section 501(c)(7). This enables us to hold raffles, 50/50’s, etc. without having to obtain a license. Long time coming

Court Space

If you’ve been praying for more courts, especially at 9am, give the old Lodge courts a try. The roll-away nets are still there along the fences, the yellow lines are still there, and the area can still accommodate 6 pickleball courts. Remember, that’s where we cut our teeth for all those years before the PARC courts were built. These courts are rarely, if ever, in use on a regular basis. Sign up for them in Jonas

Gentle Reminders

  • Please only play in NPU in the group that’s consistent with your true skill level. If you play in tournaments as an A player, then you belong in the A NPUs. But if you sign-up for the Intermediate category in a tournament, you should be with the B (or even C) NPUs. To challenge yourself is fine, if you’re not diluting the level of play for the rest of the A group, BUT to try to play over your head and abilities, the A category is not for you.

  • Please respect the NPU Waiting List. There are 24 places available for each set of courts (the ABCD groups). If you’re on the Waiting List, you are NOT entitled to play unless either you are specifically invited to join the 24 or enough of the original 24 drop out to make room for you.

  • With so many new players, it would be a good gesture to make sure and introduce yourself to the rest of the players on the court. We are social!!

  • If you’re signed-up to play and discover you can/will not play, please take yourself out of Den to make room for others, especially those on Wait List.

Schedule of Events

For the first time in forever, there are NO CHANGES to our schedule this week. Hallelujah! Please see the attached PDF file for all the details you could ever ask for.

IMPORTANT

It’s that time of the year, again. Yes, Hannukah and Christmas, but that’s not what’s up. What’s up is TPCA is looking for us all to pony up with Trackage, Registered Golfer, Short Course pass, etc. Us too. It is membership renewal time. Get a form at the PARC mail box or get on line at the website – whatever it takes to scrape together $15 per person and pay before December 31. After that date, the Den drops you from the system, and you won’t be able to do a lot of things … sign-up to play, read these scintillating Fixes, get into Wednesday evening Round Robin, register for the cookouts, etc. Don’t let this get away from you.
