The Member/Guest/Member (MGM) Tournament is going on today Jan 14 and tomorrow Jan 15. Hotdogs/drinks will also be on sale on Friday and Saturday at the Pavilion during the tournament. If you did not sign up, come on out, get yourself a snack and cheer on your pickleball colleagues who are playing. If you’ve never viewed a tournament--here’s your chance to see if you may be interested in participating in upcoming tournaments in Feb and/or Mar. Thanks to all those who volunteered to help at the Courts! It takes a lot of work to run a tournament!!
Reminders
--Parking. The tournament and cookout this weekend will tax the parking facilities. Cars park in the parking lot and golf carts on the Wellness Center side of the Pavilion and in the grass area to the north of the Courts. Carpool when possible and use the parking lot at the dog park if needed.
--Cookout: The weekly cookout will take place at 5:30p on Saturday. It is a potluck so sign up on Den and bring your favorite dish to share. Fee $3.
--Removing Names from Den Sign-up Sheets. Please remember to remove your name from an event you signed up for on the Den sign-up sheets if you no longer plan to attend that event. Go to the event you signed up for and click the gray box next to the title at the top of the specific event. You will be removed and the number of players listed will go down by 1. This is important as it allows other players to sign up for the event AND activates the Waitlist to add the next person on the Waitlist to be able to play. The waitlisted player also receives an email indicating they are now on the main list of players. Also, if you have signed up another player, make sure you told that player you have signed them up!
Weekly Update
--The Annual BASH tickets will go on sale Wednesday, January 19 at the PARC Pavilion at 10am. The Annual BASH at the Lodge is on Fri. March 11. Each TPPC member can purchase no more than two tickets at $20.00 per ticket for members only due to limited seating. Get your ticket early! Details were sent in a separate email earlier.
--Sat. Cookout on Jan 22. The 3 TPCA candidates running for the TP Board have been invited and accepted to speak to PB Club members (5 min each with Q&A following) at the Jan 22 cookout at 6pm at the Pavilion. Members who do not want to attend the cookout that starts at 5:30p may come at 6p to hear the candidates.
--Cookout Guest Chefs. Members who would like to be guest chefs for a Sat. Cookout, please contact the Cookout Committee (Carol Bowe - heybowe@hotmail.com, Karen Toof - ktoof@aol.com) to volunteer. Select the date and the main dish you plan to make!
--40th TP Anniversary Open House is at the PAC on Sat. February 5 from 12-3pm. Set up starts at 9am and volunteers are needed to set up and to sit at the TPPC table to talk pickleball to those residents who stop by. Volunteers should contact Kathleen Bell, who has agreed to chair the TPPC 40th anniversary Open House event on Feb 5. More details to come.
