Message from the Cookout Committee

Cookout, Sat., Dec. 16 - The main dish for this Saturday’s cookout on December 17 is homemade pot pies by Chefs Thayer and Toof. Volunteers are needed to register participants, set up/take down and clean up afterwards. Remember registration closes for each cookout on Thurs. at 5pm and if you have signed up please come on out as the chefs have planned for you. Reminder: There will be no cookout on Dec 24 (Christmas Eve) or Dec 31 (NYE Party).

Weekly Update

--Men’s Day, Tues. Dec 20, 1-5pm

--Wednesday Night Event starting Dec 21, 5-7pm: This event is a regular ABCD event.

-- Ladies Day, Thurs, Dec 22, 1-5p. Sign up on Den and check in at courts no later than 1pm.

Training and Development for the Week of Dec 19 – Sign up on Den

--Beginner Lessons are on Mon. Dec. 19 from 1-3pm, courts 1 & 2. This class is for new members and players. Limit 8 players.

--Beginner Play with a mentor on Mon. Dec. 19 from 1-3pm, courts 3 & 4. After you've taken a couple of lessons, this is a perfect place to come and play alongside a mentor. Limit 8 players.

--Skills & Drills Class on Wed. Dec. 21 from 1-3pm, courts 1 & 2. Players will get to focus on things they may be having issues with while also working on new strategies. Join us if you'd like to improve your game. Limit 8 players.

--Fri. Lessons on Dec. 23 from 1-3, courts 1 – 4. Lessons are designed to help build skills of beginner players. Rotating stations will give you the opportunity to work on different skills with different instructors. Limit 16 players.

All training classes will continue each week. Watch the Friday Fix for any time or schedule changes.

New Year’s Eve Party

Volunteers are still needed to help with the Party. Contact co-chairs Karen Toof or Carol Bowe .

2023 Membership Renewal

Thank you to the almost 700 people who paid dues for the 2023 membership year. If you are planning on renewing your membership, please put your envelope with a completed form and & $10 payment in the court mailbox as soon as possible. Blank forms are located in a bin underneath the mailbox and on the TPPC website. Get your membership form & payment in ASAP!

Reindeer Games Tournament – Dec 25

There are still some openings for the Reindeer Games Tournament on the morning of Dec. 25. Fill out the form in the pb box at the Courts and place it in the main PB box. Donation boxes for the entry fee for Kathy’s K-9 Rescue and Grace Presbyterian Church’s Christmas food drive will be at the Pavilion on Dec 21, 24 and 25. You can still donate to these worthy causes even if you are not playing in the tournament. Note: Volunteers are needed for the tournament and collecting donations. Contact Patty Rocheleau to volunteer to help at the tournament and Pat Thayer dpthayer@hotmail.com for donations.

Throwback Tuesday Event Returns

Throwback Tuesday returns for all women picklers on the first Tuesday of the month January 3, 2023, at 5pm at the Lodge Pickleball Courts, a throwback to our original Court play on those courts. Four (4) courts will be available for pickleball followed by socializing. Please bring a snack to share, and everyone brings their own drink. For questions call Karen Toof . Just show up to play pickleball and socialize with your colleagues for an evening of great fun!

Event Sign-ups on Den

Check the latest Calendar of Events now posted on Den. Sign up for events that interest you. This is a busy time of year so only sign up for those times/events you can attend. Remove your name ASAP if you cannot play so others can fill your spot.

Note: The BOD open December meeting is on Tuesday, Dec. 20 at 3:30 in the Lodge Cypress Room.
