Lots to update from this full week of pickleball activities! So here goes….

TPPC ELECTIONS

--2022 Board Election. Two TPPC Board Members elected for 3-year terms: Sue Hunter and Karen Powers.They were elected to replace Tom Asbel and Deb Howard whose terms expired.

--2022 TPPC Officers and Directors. President - Don Rooks, Vice-President - Cathi Ellingson, Treasurer - Karen Powers, Secretary/Communications - Bev Crane; Sue Hunter, Director - Dave Dwyer - Director, Marie Knowlton - Director.

2022 Annual Members’ Meeting Highlights

At 1pm in the PAC, President Knowlton called the 2022 Annual Members’ Meeting to order. 120 members had signed in so a quorum was present.

Nominations Committee Chair, Thayer explained the Director voting process and distributed ballots. Voting commenced and ballots were collected to be counted while the meeting progressed. When ballots were counted, Knowlton announced the two new Directors for 2022: Sue Hunter and Karen Powers. Thanks to everyone who attended the meeting and voted for the new 2022 Directors. Your dedication to the Club is much appreciated. Following the meeting an On the Spot Cookout was held at the PARC with hotdogs, chips, and drinks supplied by the Club.

2022 Annual Directors’ Meeting Highlights

--Election of 2022 TPPC Directors and Officers - Following the Annual Members’ Meeting, the Annual Directors’ Meeting was held. All seven (7) BOD members, including the newly elected members, elected the following officers for 2022: President - Don Rooks; Vice-President - Cathi Ellingson; Treasurer - Karen Powers; Secretary/Communications - Bev Crane; Directors: Dave Dwyer, Sue Hunter, Marie Knowlton. Please give this group your support!

Bash Recap

Chair D’Ambrosio and his Committee P. Asbel and DeGirolamo put together a great dinner for the 200+ BASH attendees in the Lodge on Fri. Mar 11. P. Rocheleau and Thayer created and decorated the Lodge with a pickleball motif. Club photographer Harris took numerous photos of members dining, dancing, and socializing during the evening. MC T. Asbel was kept busy presenting door prizes collected as donations by Dalley, and the raffle 50/50 winner won $473! Dancing continued all evening with music from Cat Valentine as a good time was had by all! Now everyone knows what the TPPC BASH really is!

Memorial Bill Schneider Charity Member-Member Tournament Recap

62 members registered for the tournament. There were 3 divisions for the Mixed event Friday morning. Due to inclement weather the Men’s Doubles was canceled on Saturday morning. Three divisions played in the Ladies’ Doubles on Saturday afternoon. Click the attached PDF below for a complete list of all winners for Mixed and Ladies’ Doubles in the 3 divisions.

Congratulations to all winners and thanks to all who participated in the Tournament, the volunteers who helped and all members who turned out to cheer on their colleagues to make for a successful tournament. Thanks to T. Asbel for putting the Tournament together once again. It is a lot of work and much appreciated!

Coming Week’s Update

This week watch for the following play and social events:

--Sat night cookout features hotdogs as the main dish at the PARC at 5:30pm. Please bring your side dish for 6-8 persons as usual and sign up on the Den by Thurs. for planning purposes.

--Sign up for Beginner Play Session with Mentor - This new event is on Tuesdays, Court 1 from 4:00 to 5:30pm; Thursdays, Court 1 from 11 to 12:30pm. Maximum of 6 participants in each session. Sign up on Den.

--Level 1 Skills - Wed. 9:30-11am. Courts 1 & 2 sign-up; maximum 8 participants. Sign up on Den.
