Pickleball Fix

by Bev Crane

Many of our pickleball colleagues are leaving for the summer or on extended vacations. We wish you all well and a great time through the next few months. We will miss you here in Timber Pines at the Courts.

US Open Pickleball Championships in Naples Live

Lots of pickleball online this week on the Pickleball Channel which can be viewed on both YouTube and Facebook

Congratulations to Nancy Amaro on a Silver Medal

Our TPPC member Nancy Amaro and her partner Barb Utterback, a long-time friend from her racquetball days in Chicago, competed in the women’s 3.0/65+ division of the US Open. They won 2 matches making them eligible to compete in the finals where they won the Silver Medal. What a great accomplishment and honor! Nancy said she loved the tournament and hopes to go back next year!

Cookout on Saturday, April 30

This Saturday night’s cookout at 5:30pm at the Pavilion will feature spaghetti and meatballs as the main dish. Please list the side dish you plan to bring in the Comments section of the Den when you sign up so there is a good variety of dishes!

After the cookout plan to watch the US Open Pickleball Championship in Naples live 7-9pm on CBS Sports Network.

A great Saturday night: Good food, camaraderie and your Pickleball Fix live!!

Instructions: A Note from Sue Hunter: How to add the Den App to your phone

It seems several members have lost the Den app icon on their iPhones this week through no fault of their own. If you are one of these lucky people, here are the steps to put it back on. If you have trouble, please contact Sue Hunter

--In your browser (like Safari) type in app.tppickleballden.com to get to the Pickleball Den log in screen. Do not log in.

--At the bottom of the page, click on a little box with a small arrow pointing up.

--On the Options page that displays, scroll down and click “Add to Home Page.” In the upper right corner of the screen, click the little Den icon “Add.”

--Return to your Home Screen, and click the Den icon.

--On the log-in page, enter your email and password and click the “Remember Me” box and then “log on.”

You should now be in your Den page. If not, call Sue Hunter.

Looking Ahead to the Summer…

A bit of a slowdown takes place in the summer. As a result, the Friday Fix will be sent twice a month. The next issue will be on May 13. If there is something special you need to know, a special email will be sent out on the Den. Many of us will be here all summer so you can still contact the Club email at tppickleballclub@gmail.com. It will be monitored.

Note the next open TPPC BOD meeting will be on Monday, May 9 at 3pm at the Country Club.

Have a great summer wherever you might be and until we’re all together again in the Fall,

Keep on picklin’,

TPPC Pickleball Board
