Pickleball Fix

by Mel Kohlberg

Middle of May. Snowbirds have flown the TP coop. Activity levels shrinking daily. Not much to report.

Employee Appreciation - Once again, your Pickleball Club will be hosting an Employee Appreciation luncheon on Tuesday, May 23 at the Main Room of the Lodge. This year’s menu will feature pulled pork sandwiches and lots of extras. Paid for by the Club as part of our charitable work. The committee is looking for volunteers to help set up, serving, clean up, and whatever else it takes. Please contact Diane Beaudoin to volunteer.

For Beginners – So as not to lose new folks during the summer hiatus, there will be lessons and games geared to new and nearly new members. Introductory lessons will be on Tuesday, June 6, Thursday, July 13, and Tuesday, August 22; all at 7:00-9:00pm, courts #1-2. If not a Club member, or a new Club member, and unable to attend one of these, send an email to tppickleballclub@gmail.com When 4 or more requests are received, an introductory lesson will be offered at another time/date. After the intro lessons, join others for beginner-level Next Paddle Up play on Wednesdays and Fridays at 9:00-11:00am, courts #9-10. Lastly, there is still (depending on demand) Skinny Singles largely for beginner-level players. Thursdays, 5:00-7:00pm, courts 5-8.

Summer Schedule – All other training and development activities (lessons, drills, etc) are suspended for the summer. Men’s and Ladies Days are out until November. Still on the schedule is the ABCD Round Robin event on Wednesdays, 7:00-9:00pm, courts 1-10. PLEASE NOTE THE TIME CHANGE. And the monthly cookouts continue. Next up June 3, 5:30-7:00pm, courts #1-6. Everything else is daily NPU, 9:00-11:00am, courts 5-8, and Open Play any other place/time. Quiet time!!
