PickleBall Fix: November13 ,2020

Welcome back snowbirds! We’re all happy to have you back on the Courts. Timber Pines recommends a10-day quarantine upon return, and the TPPC officers support social distancing and the same quarantine since we have players coming back from many states. TPPC has provided pump hand sanitizer on the tables for all to use when you are playing.

Although tropical storm/hurricane ETA dropped a lot of rain on Timber Pines and forced cancellations of many of our activities and events, Timber Pines weathered the storm well with little to no damage despite storm and flash flood warnings. We were lucky!

2021 Club Membership Renewals

2021 membership renewals are still taking place despite having to cancel renewal at the Lodge Courts on Monday and Wednesday this week. Added renewal dates at the Courts will be next week on Mon 16, 9-11, Wed 18, 4-6, and Fri 20, 9-11. Again, thank you to all those who have volunteered to sit at the tables for renewal and for being flexible based on the weather. For those who are regularly playing, it is easy to drop your membership form and dues as you enter or leave the Courts. All volunteers will have masks so members please wear a mask and keep a social distance if you need to wait to renew.

Remember you can also place your 2021 membership forms with the $10 dues (cash or check) in the Pickleball Box at the Courts on the parking lot side. They will be picked up daily. Dropboxes are also available for renewal form/dues at Cranes-1375 Crescent Oaks Ct. and Dwyers-2523 Crystal Lake Dr. Blank 2021 Forms are available on the Lodge Bulletin Board.

Renewal Reminder: Please let us know if you are not returning to TP for 2021 because of COVID and want to continue as a 2021 TPPC member. If you plan to cancel your membership for 2021, we also need to know so we can discontinue the Den membership that the Club pays for. Email TPPC at tppickleballclub@gmail.com.

Upcoming Events

--Lucy Kitcher Clinic. In late January a pickleball clinic, offered by pickleball pro Lucy Kitcher as the instructor, is being planned for intermediate and advanced level players. Spots will be available for approximately 24 members. Last year’s clinic by Coach Mo was well attended so we anticipate that spots will fill up fast. The Board is trying to anticipate Club member interest so let us know. (tppickleballclub@gmail.com).

--New Courts Opening Ceremonies. The Club is anxiously awaiting the opening of the 12 new pickleball courts in January. The Board is busy planning opening ceremonies and other activities to celebrate. Watch for new T-shirts to commemorate this momentous occasion, a long time coming!

With cooler weather the courts are filling up. Come on up, be safe, and join the fun playing pickleball. Renew your membership for 2021 now!
