PickleBall Fix: December4 ,2020
After a week off, the Friday “Fix” is back again with December news. Hope you all enjoyed your Thanksgiving turkey and fixins’. Now’s the time to get your paddle and work off some of that turkey dinner!
By-laws Meeting
Thanks to all (43) who were able to attend the By-laws meeting on Wednesday, Dec. 2. For those members who could not attend, the Amended TPPC By-laws passed unanimously after one wording change in Section 8 on Quorums. As per the new By-laws, there will be seven (7) board members to be voted on at the annual meeting in March. The Amended By-laws will be on the TPPC website soon.
TPPC 2021 Membership Renewal due by December 20
TPPC 2021 membership renewal has been in process since November 1. If you have not renewed your 2021 membership, it is important to do one of the following as soon as possible as it takes time to update all internal lists, the TPPC website, and the Den:
- Those who want to continue their Club membership in 2021:
--complete a 2021 renewal form, accompanied by the $10 dues, and
--drop in the TPPC pickleball box at the Lodge Courts, at Dwyers (2523 Crystal Lakes Dr.) or Cranes (1375 Crescent Oaks Ct.).
The Den requires all Club payment by December 28. Once payment is made, the Den will update its 2021 membership list and remove all unpaid TPPC members from their website. Non-members will not be able to sign up for TPPC events on the Den, and they will not receive correspondence from the Club.
- Those who want to resign, send an email stating you want to resign from the TPPC to tppickleballclub@gmail.com. You will be removed from the TPPC lists, the Den, and the TPPC website.
- Those who are not returning because of COVID until later in 2021 send an email to tppickleballclub@gmail.com requesting to remain on the membership list. The TPPC will retain your name and pay the $2 Den payment until you return when you will pay your $10 dues for 2021. You will continue to receive correspondence from the Club and be able to sign up for events.
Current members who have not yet renewed their 2021 membership will receive a reminder email this week. You can also see whether you’ve paid for 2021 at the TPPC website (paid/unpaid) at http://www.tppickleballclub.org/tppcroster111920.pdf.
Upcoming Events
A number of special events are being planned already for 2021. Your Friday “Fix” will be communicating plans for all of them so make sure you read your FF email each week so you can keep up with the planning. More than one topic is included in each email so you do not get too much correspondence.
Preparation for 12-Court Opening Celebration
The Timber Pines and TPPC Pickleball Boards are planning events to celebrate the opening of the long - awaited 12 pickleball courts and the 10-Year Anniversary of the TPPC Pickleball Club. It appears that the completion date for the courts may be delayed. Watch for more details.
