PickleBallFix:April17 ,2020
The pickleball courts have not reopened yet, but here are a few things pickleball to think about during the coming week.
Create your own court
You saw Marie practicing on her home court in a video last week. Several other TPPC members have created their own courts for practice at their houses. With scheduled lessons cancelled for this week, watch Don Rooks, one of your pickleball instructors, practice at his home court. Click https://tinyurl.com/qrrzmeo to see the photo of Don playing. You can make your own court too!
And, while you are practicing or just to get in the mood, watch the video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oKjfsp74Wck, created by JigsawHealth for "pickleball addicts." Listen to Whitney Houston singing "I Wanna Dink with Somebody." You may have heard it, but it's upbeat and fun to watch more than once!
TPPC Website
Check out the TPPC website at https://www.tppickleballclub.org. Steve Fortin, our webmaster, has been busily working on all aspects of the site. Take a look at all the photos, especially the "Fun Photos," that current and past players have been sending. Steve is adding lots of your photos and videos regularly. Access photos: Quick Links > Photo/Video Gallery > Fun Photos.
Pickleball Den Feature
Many of your pickleball snowbird friends have headed home early and those that are here must adhere to social distancing. Pickleball Den has some features that you may find useful to keep in touch with your pickleball friends now that you're not seeing them frequently as a result of these restrictions.
The Den has a heading called My Friends under Favorites. Log on to Den, click Favorites and follow the instructions in the attached PDF on how to set up your Friends List, send friends a request to join your Friends List, and then message them.
My Friends List > Send Friend Request > Message Friends
Your pickleball friends will love hearing from you!
Hopefully, in the not too distant future, we will all be back enjoying playing pickleball with all our friends whom we've missed over these weeks. Until then, Happy 10th Anniversary TPPC, and we'll be joining together soon to celebrate!
Be safe,
Marie Knowlton, TPPCP cc: Bev Crane, Communications
