PickleBall Fix: January15,2021
The January schedule of organized play resumed on Monday, January 11 with morning lessons followed by a special shootout at 1pm attended by Pickleball Den administrators. 30 players on the 6 courts played two rounds of 4 games in each round. It was fun to use our mobile devices to enter scores and see the progress of the shootout. Den personnel also provided gifts for a raffle at the end of the shootout to complete an enjoyable day. Thanks to Steve Fortin, our TPPC tech guru, who organized the event that demonstrated the Den shootout mobile system.
Reminder: Please follow suggested CDC guidelines and quarantine for required time periods. Club officers strongly advise wearing a mask off the courts, social distancing, using hand sanitizer, and leaving the courts when your game is over. Players must continue to sign up for all events on the Den to continue contact tracing.
Lucy Kitcher Clinic – Jan 25,26
Only one more week until the Lucy Kitcher Clinic on Monday Jan 25 and Tuesday Jan 26. There are still a few spots left for the Clinic on Mon, Jan. 25. Tuesday may be cancelled due to lack of interest. Because of continued COVID restrictions, the social gathering planned during the Clinic has also been cancelled.
Registration forms are available on the Lodge Bulletin Board and the TPPC website at http://www.tppickleballclub.org/lucy_kitcher_clinics.pdf. Place completed form with the $30 fee in the Pickleball box at the Courts. The Club is looking forward to Lucy Kitcher’s instruction during the Clinic.

PARC Update
The 12 new pickleball courts at the PARC are looking better and better! The latest pictures are on the TPPC website at http://www.tppickleballclub.org/. To see them, “click image to view slide show of PARC” highlighted in red. Court usage has been pushed to March 1, due to parking lot completion. Stuart is asking for County approval for a partial completion of the parking lot area.
Kathi’s K9 Charity Event
In the past the TPPC has made donations to help Kathi’s K9 animal rescue. At the end of February Kathi's is having a garage sale to support their work. They are looking for items (e.g furniture, clothing, animal items, etc.) that people would be willing to donate for the sale. If you have an item to donate, please contact Cathi Ellingson, a TPPC member, who will arrange for pick-up (414-217-0232). Thank you for considering this worthwhile cause.
2021 Dues Payment
Note that if you have just returned to Timber Pines, you must pay your 2021 dues in order to sign up for events on the Den. Forms are on the Lodge Bulletin Board and can be dropped in the Pickleball Box at the Courts with $10 dues (cash or check to TPPC).
Watch for Coach’s Corner next week. Stay safe! See you at the Courts!
