TPPC Board of Directors Meeting – September 21, 2021
The TPPC BOD meeting was called to order at 3pm on September 21, 2021. Members attending were Knowlton, Howard, Dwyer, Rooks, Asbel, Crane, Ellingson by phone.
Secretary Report
Crane said she had sent minutes of the September 14 meeting for review to the BOD in order to be approved at the next meeting in October.Howard moved, seconded by Asbel, to approve the September 14 minutes as corrected.
Treasurer’s Report
Dwyer stated Club members were at 783. He reported the Club would be using the Quicken computer program for reports.
Old Business
Next Paddle Up. Dwyer reported that the NPU event was not being run according to the rules. He noted that there had been some conflicts about how the event should or would be conducted. Dwyer suggested that the event be changed to open play by group until the event until the issues were resolved. Howard and Knowles said they had explained how the event should be run to several regular players noting that winners would stay and split after a game. It was decided that due to the popularity of the event, it would continue; printed instructions would be written and sent out to members. Also suggested was to laminate rules to be placed near the paddle holders. October Schedule. Fortin had requested the October Schedule to put into the Den. It was decided to leave the schedule as is in September with a few small changes for October.
Fun Tournament Update. Plans for the Tournament were reviewed.
--A color copy of the flyer would be placed on the Bulletin Board.
--Eagle Hemp as Tournament sponsor would supply hotdogs for all players. Volunteers would be solicited by Helen/Cathi individually, not in a mass Den mailing. The Club would ask Yost to dedicate Courts 11, 12 for use by the Club from 1pm on Sunday Oct. 17.
--Asbel stated that registration at the courts would start at 3pm with the tournament starting at 4pm with the rules to be reviewed at that time.
40th TP Anniversary. Summary of Club activities for the event include participation in the opening golf cart parade and TPPC volunteers manning a table at the PAC following the parade. Feb 26 was set for the TPPC all-day event at the pickleball courts. P. Asbel would be in charge of T-shirt sales and also contact a printer.
Cookout. The cutoff time for sign-up for the cookout on Den was not working correctly. Rooks volunteered to change the time on Den to Thurs. at 5:30pm.
New Business
BASH. Printing tickets for the Bash was discussed. Noted was that due to the storage addition in the Lodge main room 16 spots would be lost. Including the reserved Lodge porch 252 tickets could be sold. It was decided to sell tickets again this year.
Wine Social. Dalley requested that the social to the winery be revisited and he would call the wine owner for available dates.
Parking. Howard noted that golf carts parked under the pavilion may be issued warning and possible ticketing.
