DIRECTOR VACANCY
The Pickleball Club Nominating Committee is seeking members to apply for open positions on the Club Board of Directors. There are five positions available for 2024: three 3-year terms and two 1-year terms. We are calling out to all members. Thus far, only 3 persons have volunteered their names to fill the five positions. If you are interested and would like to serve on the Pickleball Club Board of Directors, please submit your name, along with a short summary of who you are and why you would be a good candidate for the board. The terms of service will be determined by the new board immediately after the Members’ Annual Meeting elections, during the Board of Directors Annual Meeting. All those interested in running need to submit their name and summary by February 26, 2024. Please send them to Carol Bowe or place your submission in the box located on the front porch at Sugarbush Drive. Remember, we need at least 80 people to attend the upcoming annual meeting, on March 28, 2024, at 10:00am in the PAC, in order to constitute a quorum. Whether you are an avid playing member or a social member of the Pickleball Club, we want you to attend the meeting, cast your vote, and give your input for future issues, such as cookouts, events and scheduling of the courts.
PARKING
Once again, we ask please be courteous and follow the designation of parking spaces in the pickleball court parking lot area. When you see a dotted line between two solid lines, that means the space is designed for electric golf carts. And, two solid lines with nothing in between means a designated automobile parking space. Let’s face it, if we’re healthy enough to play pickleball, surely we can walk a few extra yards in the parking lot to satisfy the needs of all players. Thanks, guys/gals.
SKILLS AND DRILLS - D
We are now offering a Skills and Drills for D-level players every Tuesday at 2pm on courts #1-2, starting February 20, 8 player limit.
GET YOUR GLASS OVER HERE
We are in search of clear wine or liquor bottles in the 750ML size. We are using these for decorations for the Bash, so drink up and save for us your empties, or if you don’t drink, you are welcome to bring us full bottles as long as they are clear! We’ll take care of the unused contents. Bottles can be dropped off at Kathie Cocchi’s house, Summerwood Court. If you have some but can’t do the drop off, contact Diane Beaudoin and we’ll see they get to Kathie.
SIGN-UP PROTOCOLS
We’ve been here before, but it seems it warrants talking about this again. So, a reminder that if you sign-up to play on the courts, please be responsible and show up and play at the time you requested. Some people are signing up in bulk for every day of NPU, and then taking their names out at the last minute, or not showing up at all. This also happens at the Wednesday ABCD Round Robin. That’s just not fair to those who would love to be playing, but got relegated to the wait list. Also, if you have guests that you are signing up, you are supposed to play with them on the same court, not a different court. After all, they are YOUR guests.
Also, if you are signed up for two different courts at the same time, you may be deleted from one of the courts, especially if there is a wait list on that court. Again, this should be common sense that you actually cannot be in two places at the same time. Nonetheless, this is happening and is not fair to those on the wait list that can’t play, because someone has booked a spot that they are not using. We want to maximize the use of our wonderful courts and give everyone a chance to play and enjoy.
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
Please see attached PDF Schedule of Events. Look closely for the new times and courts assignments which started January 29, 2024 for all levels of players. Once again, the Scheduling Committee responding to your every wish!!
