PickleBall Fix: May 7, 2021
The cookouts are back--Saturday nights at 5:30pm at the Courts. Approximately 85 members signed up for pizza this week! If you signed up for the Cookout tomorrow, upon arriving at the Courts, stop at the table to check in. A volunteer will be there to collect your $3 and give you a name tag. Please have CORRECT CHANGE, if at all possible. Bring your drink, a chair, and a dish to share to be placed on tables. Looking forward to getting back together again for some socializing after all of this time!
Note: For the cookout next week on May 15, remember to sign up on the Den by 12noon, Thursday, May 13.
Notice: The Club is looking for 12 guest Chefs, one to cover one Saturday each month. Each chef for the month will prepare the Saturday night menu for attendees. At previous cookouts Ray Neier brought pulled pork and Karen Toof made burritos. One person or a group of friends could create the main dish. Expenses will be reimbursed. Volunteer chefs, please contact Helen DeGirolamo with your suggested main dish and the month you are interested in.
Events
--Pickleball on Cinco de Mayo. Donny’s theme for this week focused on Wednesday, May 5, Cinco de Mayo. Members played pickleball and culminated the evening with margaritas, Mexican beer, and the favorite Fireball! Tom Howard celebrated his birthday too with dessert to go with the drinks.
--Rankings. See the top 10 final standings for Men’s and Ladies’ Shootouts and Skinny Singles rankings listed on the TPPC website (http://www.tppickleballclub.org/tppbc_new_006.htm).
--Monday Evening Lessons/Drills for those still working during the day was filled this Monday with 8 players. Some players new to the game worked on the basics; others practiced their skills and all played games. The next session has a few spots left on Mon. May 17 at 6pm. Just sign up on the Den.
PARC Update
Work is progressing on the parking area at the PARC. Workers poured asphalt for two days this week--one more step toward playing on the new Courts!
