TIMBER PINES PICKLEBALL CLUB IN BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING MINUTES OCTOBER 8, 2024 ,

CALL TO ORDER: President Lorenzen called the meeting to order at 2:00pm

PROOF OF NOTICE: Agenda was dent via Den email.

PROOF OF QUORUM:

Directors present: Lorenzen, Asbel, Dibert, Jensen, Horn (remote), Coffin (remote)

Also present: 4 members PROOF OF QUORUM ESTABLISHED

APPROVAL OF PREVIOUS MINUTES: minutes of the previous meeting (September 10). Motion made and seconded.

PRESIDENT’S REPORT: None

SECRETARY’S REPORT: None

TREASURER’S REPORT: Motion to approve treasures report presented by John, duly 2nd

                                       MOTION CARRIED BY UNANIMOUS CONSENT

Motion made and duly 2nd for John to reinvest up to $9000 of the $15300, (of a CD maturing Sat, Oct 12) into a 1year cd

COMMITTEE REPORTS

ADMINSTRATION-NONE

FACILITIES- Tom- equipment placed in shed in anticipation of Hurricane Milton. Wind screens will be lowered after hurricane season.

TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT-Eddie variety of programs will be offered. The majority will begin the beginning of November.

EVENTS-Jim, will return November 3 will meet to discuss steps for the Bash

COMMUNICATION-NONE

FINANCE/MEMBERSHIP- John- start renewing membership beginning November.

SCHEDULING-Ken – Continuing group bookings for members and nonmembers. Same guidelines as before. Will send out notifications via the den to members/nonmembers informing them of this opportunity and the parameters involved. Requested that Club functions be scheduled in 2 hour increments. Ladies and Men’s day are in need of an member to run this event. Schedule set through November 3rd.

                                           UNFINISHED BUSINESS

TOURNAMENT-November 15&16 -Turkey Trot flyer available after hurricane at the shade structure, Friday, hopefully.

VAPTR- Tom submitted a 2nd request for a 3rd VAPTR. Turned down. Motion made, duly 2nd for the club to purchase the smaller VAPTR, so it would fit through the gate. Cost around $3000

                                                                         NEW BUSINESS

$1000 donation to assist Hernando Country residents affected by Hurricane Helene-with upcoming Hurricane Milton, decided to table.

Terlep Chiropractic offering free massages to club members- would need TP BOARD approval. As a club, did not want to encourage specific services. Decided to respond to their request with a no thanks.

Club does encourage members and guests to wear protective eyewear, but of course it is a personal choice and our club cannot mandate such safety issues. The courts belong to Timber Pines.
