TPPC Board Meeting – January 31, 2021 11:00am-12:30pm

Present: Knowlton, Howard, Dwyer, Crane Knowlton called the meeting to order.

Treasurer’s Report. Dwyer reported on the following:

--SunTrust, the Club bank, has changed its name.

--the number of members on Den and money received and deposited balanced

--bills from Lacek for Clinic and supplies by Dwyer were approved by Board

-- bills up to $50 can be paid without Board approval

-- Dwyer would be meeting with Bob Powers to review the Treasurer Excel budget spreadsheet. ---Year- end report would be given at the annual meeting at the end of March.

--Mel Kohlberg is conducting the 2020 TPPC audit and writing up comments.

--Gene Long’s 2021 membership check will be returned to Bonnie Long.

Dwyer moved, seconded by Howard, that checks up to $100 could be written without Board approval. Motion passes unanimously.

Nominating Committee. Dwyer noted the committee would have 3 members with no more than one Board member. Dave volunteered to participate, Carol Bowe and Pat Thayer were members for 2020. Margaret Hughes has not returned yet due to COVID. Knowlton moved, seconded by Crane, that the committee consist of Thayer, Dwyer, and Bowe, if they all agreed. Dwyer said he would contact last year’s members to see if they wanted to be on the Committee this year and hold a meeting.

All current officers indicated that they would run again for the Board in March for the following terms: Knowlton, Dwyer (3 yrs), Crane (2 yrs), and Howard (1 yr). These names would be given to the Nominating Committee and the Committee would meet this week and send out an announcement of the upcoming election and a request for members to give their names to the Committee by March 1. Crane would send out an email to the membership announcing the Annual Meeting 30 days in advance of the March 31 meeting.

Upcoming Events. Howard said she would contact the Lodge about reservations for the Bash and annual meeting scheduled for 3pm on March 31. It was suggested that the PARC pavilion or Lodge be reserved for both events, if available.

Schedule. Dwyer stated a tentative schedule for March for 12 courts was being reviewed. The schedule was approved for 12 courts to be fluid if changes are needed or the courts are not available at the beginning of March. The waitlist would be kept at 6 due to COVID.

Other Items

--Website. The Board agreed that no additional members be given manager privileges to make changes to Website events.

--T-shirts. Knowlton noted that 20 printed T-shirts were donated for players who had participated in 100 shootouts.

--Storage room at Pavilion. Knowlton indicated that small, adjustable shelves could be placed behind the tables for more storage.

--New court signs. Knowlton stated that the new paddle court signs at the new courts would be white against the black fencing. Work had been done by Club members (Larry Pierce, Barb Rooks, Tom Howard)

--Supplies. Dwyer said he would contact Yost about equipment needed for the new courts including paddle racks that might be made at the woodshop and ball hoppers to be placed midway between two courts.

The meeting adjourned at 12:30pm.
